Gaya Hidup dan Cermin Diri dalam Food, Fun dan Fashion di Kalangan Mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai “Gaya Hidup Food, Fun, danFashion (3F) Pada Mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya Kampus Palembangâ€. Gaya hidup food, fun, dan fashion (3f) menjadi fenomena budaya populer dimana kegiatan makan, hiburan, dan gaya berpakaian tidak hanya diartikan secara harfiah namun mengarah pada penunjukkan simbol status sosial dan ekonomi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan data dikumpulkan dari wawancara secara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori praktik gaya hidup dari Bourdieu dan cermin diri dari Cooley. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu gaya hidup food, fun, dan fashion (3f) pada mahasiswa Universitas Sriwijaya Kampus Palembang menunjukkan variasi berbeda yang ditentukan dari perbedaan latar belakang sosial dan ekonomi yang terbagi menjadi kelas bawah, kelas menengah, dan kelas atas. Gaya hidup yang dilakukan menimbulkan identitas diri yang dianggap setara dalam lingkungan pertemanan dan dimaknai sebagai sarana untuk menambah pertemanan, sarana membangun interaksi dengan kelompok teman sebaya, dan sebagai sarana untuk menjadi lebih modern tentang hal baru.
