Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang fenomena tingginya minat masyarakat Desa Senuro Barat untuk melaksanakan ibadah haji padahal mayoritas masyarakat tersebut bermata pencaharian sebagai petani karet dengan penghasilan yang rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui alasan mendasar masyarakat melaksanakan ibadah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi serta menggunakan alat analisis berupa teori Strukturasi dari Anthony Giddens. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa motif yang melatarbelakangi masyarakat dalam memutuskan melaksanakan ibadah haji yaitu motif tidak sadar, motif sadar dan motif berdasarkan rutinitas. Sementara itu, struktur sosial yang mendorong yaitu aturan berupa tradisi turun temurun serta sumber daya yang terdiri atas alokatif berupa karet dan otoritatif berupa otoritas tokoh agama dan keluarga. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan ibadah haji didorong oleh adanya peran agen dan struktur yang ada di desa tersebut yang membentuk dualitas dalam praktik sosial yang berulang dan terpola dalam lintas ruang dan waktu.ÂReferences
