Peer Review Process
Initial Review
Manuscripts sent to the Jurnal Empirika will be reviewed by editors assigned to send the manuscript in a doubl-blind peer review process or reject it without further review. This decision usually takes around 7-14 working days. Rejection by the editor can be based on several things such as:
- The manuscript does not represent the focus and scope of the Jurnal Empirika
- The manuscript does not meet editorial criteria
- It has a significant similarity after being examined using Turnitin (a maximum of 25%)
- The main problem is grammar or interpretation
Peer Review
Jurnal Empirika applies a double-blind peer-review policy. Editor will send the manuscript to the peer review process and identify peer reviewers who have expertise in the topics written as well as their scientific reputation. This journal adopts double-blind review, which implies that during the review process, both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from one other. Every article submitted will be given to at least a reviewer. The reviewer is not permitted to know the name of the author and the name of the reviewers are also unknown by the author of the manuscript. We give reviewer two weeks to conduct a comprehensive review of the manuscript. After the review process, a decision with written justification will be sent to the editor and submitted to the author. Decisions can be summarized as follows: accepted, received with minor revisions, major revisions, and resubmit for review, or rejected.
Revision Stage
Manuscripts which require correction will be returned to the author who must format and review the manuscript up to two weeks after the manuscript is examined by the editor. Manuscripts accepted with major improvements will be sent back to the same reviewer to check whether the revised manuscript meets the established standards and criteria. Authors are required to modify the manuscript following the direction of the editor and reviewer but we are also open to the author's argument if they want to raise their objections to modifying the manuscript. The editor will assess the adequacy and suitability of the modifications as well as whether the author has responded to the reviewer's comments and suggestions adequately. If the revision is deemed insufficient, this cycle is repeated.
Final Stage
Revised manuscripts will be accepted or rejected. This decision depends on whether the manuscript has been corrected to the level which can be published by the editor. If the author cannot make the necessary repairs or make it according to the criteria set out in this journal, the manuscript will be rejected.
